Reverend Dr. T. Kenjitsu Nagaki, Japanese Buddhist Priest, President of the Buddhist Council of New York and Vice Chair of the Interfaith Center of New York, will lead an Interfaith ceremony with local Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Hindu, and Muslim leaders to commemorate the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Messages from the Mayors of of Hiroshima and Nagasaki will be read. Hiroshima survivor Tomiko Morioto west will her story. The event will also feature peace music performances by Japanese and American musicians including: Toshiko Akiyoshi, Lew Tabackin, Shinji Harada, Sumiko Tajihl, Manami Hattori-Fallen, Nobuki Takamen, Kaoru Watanabe, Sonny Ochiai, Tenri Gagaku and the Japan Choral Harmony TOMO choir.
There will also be art exhibitions and a Peace Walk to Imagine Circle.
