Bryant Park
5th and 6th Avenues, 40th and 42nd Streets, New York, NY
Bryant Park’s first-ever Emerging Music Festival brings five of NYC’s best up-and-coming bands for FREE. Grab a blanket and come for a beautiful and music-filled summer night on the lawn.
Mainland is four fast-playing NY retro-rockers whose debut EP was produced by Spoon drummer Jim Eno. Fans of The Postelles will enjoy their “pop-minded take on garage rock and angular proto-punk” (Consequence of Sound).
Julia Easterlin is a “rising American singer and performance artist” (WNYC) who uses loop technology and her one-of-a-kind voice to make music that draws from jazz, pop, African dance, and soul.
Lazyeyes is a heralded three-piece band from Brooklyn that creates “a muscular, riff-happy brand of guitar-based dream-pop” (Stereogum).
Mad Satta is an ultra-tight eight piece band that “waves the flag for future-soul, mixing old-school vibes with jazz and modern-day funk” (VIBE).
Miracles Of Modern Science uses violin, cello, mandolin, drums, and a double bass-wielding frontman to create “pop that sounds like something new” (Wired).
