Soprano Xiaoping Hu was the first prize-winner and the Special Opera Award recipient of the 20th International Music Competition held in Budapest, Hungary. She was the first Asian performer to receive this honor. Joined by a number of guest artists, Ms. Hu presents selections from beloved works by Verdi, Puccini, Gounod, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, and Saint-Saëns, as well as Gershwin, Ravel, Elgar, and Fauré. She also performs traditional Chinese songs.
