Kenzo Tsujimoto, Chairman & Representative Director of Capcom and Owner of Kenzo Estate, joins us for a lecture on his business ventures over the years, and followed by an exclusive wine tasting. Capcom, which was founded by Mr. Tsujimoto in 1983, has created many legendary video game series including Street Fighter, Megaman, and Monster Hunter. Following the massive success of Capcom in the 1980s, Mr. Tsujimoto used his personal funds to obtain 3,800 acres of land in California’s Napa Valley in 1990, which proved to be the beginning of a new venture in wine production. Mr. Tsujimoto, assisted by famed winemaker Heidi Barrett and renowned vineyard manager David Abreu, has received numerous accolades for his wines since the winery’s first vintage in 2005. In 2010, the monthly luxury-lifestyle magazine Robb Report selected Kenzo Estate’s white wine “Asatsuyu” as “Best of Sauvignon Blanc.” In this program, Mr. Tsujimoto discusses the inside story of Kenzo Estate, including his initial challenges and struggles. He also discusses the source of his passion for exceptional wines and his plans for future development of the winery.
