New York University’s International Filipino Association presents Mr. Philippines 2015!
This year, our theme is “Most Wanted.” Last year, the theme of Mr. Philippines was GQ: Gentleman of the Philippines. The point being to embody the suave and suited male models who dominate the pages of GQ Magazines as well as the hearts of many. But this year, we wanted to contrast with the clean-cut gentleman image and have you all portray another coveted type of guy: the edgy bad boy of wanted posters. But in this case, our boys aren’t wanted for the bad things they do, but for the good. Every boy has that one quality that helps him win the hearts of those around him, and we want to know what that is– We want to know what makes them: Most Wanted.
Proceeds from Mr. Philippines 2015 will benefit the Advancement for Rural Kids, Inc., or ARK. ARK empowers farmers in rural areas by feeding kids and keeping them in school. In the past, ARK has partnered with D3 for many events, and has raised money to build classrooms for kids in rural areas. This year, we are working to raise enough money to provide a full college scholarship for a young student. In order to achieve this goal, we will be holding a raffle in which a percentage of the proceeds will go towards ARK. Additionally, some of the girls from Ms. PI will be holding a bake sale to help raise money for the cause. We will also be collecting donations at the event itself. Every little bit helps!
