Oboist Ramón Ortega Quero is certainly an artist on the rise. He is the principal oboe of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, playing under its Chief Conductor Mariss Jansons, and has also performed under the direction of Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, Sir Colin Davis, and others. Quero performs an eclectic program that includes Schumann’s heartfelt and beautifully melodic Three Romances for Oboe and Piano, an arrangement of Ravel’s Baroque-inspired Le tombeau de Couperin, virtuoso treatments of themes from operatic works, and more.
