The NYPS 2016 Winter Concert will be held this year at the Baruch Performing Arts Center on February 6, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Presenting members of NYPS who are professionals in fields other than music. Also featuring NYPS Artist in Residence, Filip Pogády, violin & NYPS Young Guest Artist, James Kim, cello. The program will include works by Mozart, Chopin, Schumann, Scriabin, Liszt, Messian and more.
Artist in Residence, Filip Pogády, will be returning to the stage alongside NYPS pianists. Young virtuoso and international concert violinist, Filip is one of the most promising violinists of his generation and praised by the press for the beauty of his tone and his “lightning-like virtuosity”
Born in Seoul, Korea in 1993, James Kim, has appeared as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall, The Juilliard Orchestra at Carnegie Stern Auditorium, Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of New England Conservatory at Jordan Hall, Camerata Virtuosi of New Jersey at Carnegie Zankel Hall, Tongyeong Festival Orchestra at Tongyeong Concert Hall, and the Korean Broadcasting System Orchestra at Changwon Arts Center.
