Join the Center for Korean Research for a Lecture featuring Sun Joo Kim, a Harvard-Yenching Professor of Korean History in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations. Kim has a broad range of research interests in social and cultural history of Chosŏn Korea including regional history of the northern part of Korea, regional identity, historical memory, everyday lives of people, Korean art, and law and society. This lecture will focus on the mid-18th century Pyongyang and its government and economic dynamics. The lecture will be moderated by Jungwon Kim, Columbia University.
