Saturday, April 23 03pm to 05:30pm
The Rubin Museum of Art
150 West 17th St., New York, NY 10011
Do you want to be able to remember names at parties? And then match the names to the right faces? Would you like to recall where you last left your car keys? Or memorize The Waste Land? Attend this training by the president of Memory Training Systems, who will give you valuable and accessible tools to help your ability to memorize and concentrate.
Virtually every gallery in the Museum will be turned into a ‘memory palace’, a powerful mental device that the ancient Greeks employed to remember oratory. Employing fragrances to help anchor your memorization, and magical illusions to test them, this will be unlike any other museum experience you have ever had.
Test your ability to retain and recall information you learned in one hour with the senior coach for USA Memory Championship Frank Felberbaum. You will need an imagination and a keen sense of adventure, but you have to leave pencil, paper, smart phone, and other current aide-mémoires behind.
A book signing for The Business of Memory (Rodale, 2005) follows the event.
