Various locations
Bike the Branches lets you have fun and support the Library at the same time. Explore Brooklyn’s cultural hubs, diverse neighborhoods, local eateries and breathtaking views and discover your network of 60 neighborhood libraries.
Here’s how it works: register for the event and come to Central, Greenpoint or Kings Highway Libraries to pick up your packet anytime during branch hours from Saturday, April 30th through Saturday, May 7th. On the day of the event you can chose your own route or participate in one of our many suggested regional routes and cruise to as many branches as you can visit between 10 am and 5 pm, and be sure to get your Branch Passport stamped at each location. Throughout the day, stop in at our branches to recharge and enjoy entertainment and exciting activities including Smorgasburg vendors offering great food and beverages at Bedford, Greenpoint and Windsor Terrace branches.
Return your passport at Central Library before 5:30pm so we can tally your passport stamps and determine first, second and third place winners. Prizes will be awarded to adults and children who visit the most branches!
Celebrate a job well done at the Bike the Branches Block Party at Central Library, which has been expanded this year to run from 3 – 7 pm. The Block Party includes live music, food vendors, a Sixpoint Brewery Beer Garden, and activities for participants of all ages.
