MOCA presents a dynamic new program series that engages Chinese American curators, artists and cultural producers across generations and geographies in critical conversations to deeply investigate the aesthetic concerns, subject matter, and experiences within the Chinese and Asian American cultural community.
The series is moderated by Herb Tam, Curator and Director of Exhibitions at MOCA.
CHRISTOPHER Y. LEW is Associate Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art and is co-curator of the 2017 Whitney Biennial. Lew oversees the emerging artist program at the Museum and has recently organized the first US solo exhibitions for Rachel Rose and Jared Madere. His other upcoming exhibitions at the Whitney include Open Plan: Lucy Dodd (March 2016). Mirror Cells (May 2016), and a solo show by Sophia Al-Maria (summer 2016). Prior to joining the Whitney, Lew worked at MoMA PS1 and organized numerous exhibitions. Lew has contributed to several publications including Art AsiaPacific, Art Journal, Bomb, Huffington Post, and Mousse.
