You are cordially invited to our Spring Coming Out Of The Shadows – Day of Action! On Friday, May 27, 2016, at 5:00PM, at the New York Immigration Coalition located at 131 W. 33rd Street, Suite 610, New York, NY 10001
Our Spring Coming Out Of The Shadows – Day of Action! aims to continue building a network of support for all undocumented immigrants. We are joined by dozens of undocumented students, immigrant supporters and members of the community, together we pledge to continue our efforts to get more fair opportunities for all.
The Spring Coming Out of the Shadows consists of two parts: The Story-Telling | Story Sharing and a Day of Community Service.
Story Telling | Story Sharing: Is a moment where undocumented members of the community come out publicly revealing their immigration status. A moment of empowerment and bravery, members of the community come together in support to show that “We are not alone”. Thus, at this event dozens of Undocumented Americans will be telling their stories for the first time. We expect a crowd representing all five boroughs and surrounding cities to hear these powerful stories of struggles, boundaries, and empowerment.
Community Service: All volunteers will meet to give back to the community. We will provide more details regarding this volunteer community service at the story telling – story sharing event. Come hear our stories and join us in our efforts!
