Town of North Hempstead residents will celebrate the growing diversity and culture in the town at the 7th Annual Asian-American Festival.
Since the first Asian-American Festival in 2010, members of the North Hempstead community have celebrated the Asian cultures represented in North Hempstead yearly during Asian Heritage Month.
The Annual Asian-American Festival will be held on May 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington.
The celebration includes live music from bands from around the world, food from local restaurants, and cultural activities. Officials said there will be a lively market and cultural food representing North Hempstead’s growing ethnic diversity, with food and fun from China, India, Japan, Pakistan, Korea and many more.
The Asian Festival will offer residents the opportunity enjoy and learn about other cultures, enjoy dance, music and entertainment, eat many ethnic foods and view the merchandise offered in the festival’s marketplace.
The event is free to attend; there is a $10 parking fee per vehicle if paying with cash, $7 parking fee if paying with credit or debit card.
