About S.K. Gupta
Mr. Gupta is vice president of Operations for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (SSC). SSC designs, develops, tests, manufactures and operates a full spectrum of advanced-technology systems for national security, civil and commercial customers. Chief products include human space flight systems; a full range of remote sensing, navigation, meteorological and communications satellites and instruments; space observatories and interplanetary spacecraft and more. SSC provides over $8 billion of Lockheed Martin’s $43 billion of annual sales.
S. K.’s responsibilities include the Material Management, Transportation, Publications & Services, and Environment, Safety & Health organizations as well as about 17 million square feet of facility operations across ten states. Additionally, he manages all of SSC’s capital investments and leads SSC’s efforts for LM21 Operating Excellence and Target Zero.
As the first corporate director of LM21 Operating Excellence at Lockheed Martin Corporation, S. K. helped implement a culture of continuous improvement. Beginning in 2004, S.K. began winning a number of national awards for engineering and leadership excellence, including the Department of Defense’s 1997 Single Process Initiative Award.
S.K. has engineering degrees from the Marine Engineering College in India and the University of Michigan, an MBA from Seattle University, and executive management training at Columbia, Northwestern and Santa Clara Universities, and the Lockheed Martin’s Center for Leadership Education, S.K. has published and presented on technical, business, and leadership topics.
