The International Karate Organization (I.K.O.) Kyokushinkaikan presents the 2016 ALL AMERICAN OPEN International Karate Championships.
Fresh off the 11th World Open Karate Championships in Tokyo, Japan, last November, KYOKUSHIN fighters from across the continent and around the globe will gather in the “Capital of the World,” New York City, to challenge each other in the foremost full-contact, knockdown karate competition in the United States.
Now in its 21st year in New York, the All American Open has elevated the competitive martial arts field in the U.S. to a world-caliber level. Not only has this Championship event witnessed the likes of World Open Karate Champion and K1 Champion Francisco Filho, but in its 21-year history it has quite literally created the male and female World Champions of today, including Anastasia Kripunova from Russia, Ewerton Teixeira from Brazil, Julie Lamarre from Canada, and Zahari Damyanov from Bulgaria.
Scheduled fighters at this year’s event include men and women from the U.S., Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia, in particular, NY local favorite and three-time U.S. Super Heavyweight Champ, the “NY Giant,” Daniel Milicevic; fan-favorite “L’Arme Secrete” from France, Antonio Tusseau; and one of the strongest knockdown fighters in the world, with killer back spin kicks, the “Russian Hurricane,” Goderzi Kapanadze.
