A Time of Crisis? Recent Developments in Chinese Labor Relations with Aaron Halegua, Research Fellow at NYU Law School
Co-sponsored by the US-Asia Law Institute
This is a critical period for Chinese labor relations. The number of strikes is rising. The government is cracking down on labor NGOs. Lay-offs involving millions of workers have been announced. Aaron Halegua has studied Chinese labor issues for over a decade and consulted for Apple, the Ford Foundation, Asia Foundation, and the American Bar Association. He will discuss these recent trends and their implications for Chinese workers, foreign companies in China, and others.
