Japanese-born jazz singer Emi Takada has lived and performed in the United States since 2010. Emi released a well-received debut CD, “I’m All Smiles,” in 2014, which she has followed up with regular performances in New York (with pianists Chiemi Nakai and John Di Martino), as well as in Houston and Tokyo, to great reception. Audiences respond to her deeply felt renditions of a select repertoire that includes powerfully swinging standards, gorgeous ballads and exciting Brazilian classics in English and Portuguese.
