Actor and rapper MC Jin (The Man with the Iron Fists, 2 Fast 2 Furious) will return to host this year’s highly-anticipated McDonald’s B-Boy Royale 3, New York City’s largest annual breakdance tournament, on August 27 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Jin, who came to prominence as a battle rapper on BET’s ‘106 & Park’, received unanimous critical and audience acclaim for his performance at B-Boy Royale 2.
Special guests at this year’s B-Boy Royale include dancer/actor Michael ‘Boogaloo Shrimp’ Chambers, star of the 80’s dance classics Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo, and breakdance pioneer Richard ‘Crazy Legs’ Colón. Tickets are $25 and on sale at www.McDonaldsBBoyRoyale.com. All proceeds from the event will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area.
“It’s an honor to be back and sharing the stage with some amazing talent and legendary b-boys,” said MC Jin. “B-Boy Royale is not only an incredible competition but also an important fundraiser for a terrific charity.”
“Jin did a phenomenal job last year and we’re thrilled to have him back,” stated Paul Hendel, President of the McDonald’s New York Tri-State Co-Op, the primary sponsor of B-Boy Royale. “He’s a marvelous talent and the perfect host for our biggest B-Boy Royale yet.”
