AsianInNY 2016 Fashion Show will be on Sat 10/08/2016 from 2pm~4pm at 100 Washington St, New York featuring Asian fashion designers and brands including Alice Yim, JSong, Malan Breton, Manhattan Portage, West56, and TOTR. We are partnering with China Institute to host the largest Asian fashion show with over 50 Asian models. Come join us!

How to get tickets:
Tickets are limited for $32 per person in advance before Oct 8th online, $50 on site.

What are included:

– Cocktail reception from 2-3pm sponsored by Bruce Cost Ginger Ale, Canei, Dragon Chinese Noodles, Mika Japanese Cuisine and Bar, Singha Beer, TY KU Sake & Spirits, VIVALOE, Vodkila and more.

About the designers:

1. Malan Breton Born in Taiwan, Malan Breton is the designer of one of “the 300 most recognized luxury brands in the world” and the “24th most famous celebrity from Taiwan in the world”. Malan Breton has been worn by A-list celebrities around the world including Scarlett Johannson, Ariana Grande, Michael Buble, and Fan Bing Bing, and has costumed AMC’s Breaking Bad , NBC’s Minute to Win It, and more.” His work has been featured in Vogue, ELLE, WWD, COSMOPOLITAN, W Magazine, Vanity Fair, and on every A – list red carpet in the world including the Academy Awards. Malan is also the 2016 winner of the FGI Rising Star for menswear, and is an official Taiwan Tourism Ambassador of 2016-2017.

2. JSong, designer Way Zen In 1990, Way created the JSONG label in Canada while studying design at Seneca College. Her design philosophy has been to create clothing with exterior beauty and inner harmony. Her designs are functional for real life and inspire happiness in people. She considers herself a very lucky person to have her Chinese culture and access to other cultures. As she draws inspiration from the world, she bows to the West to thank the East and bows to the East to thank the West.

3. Alice Yim Born in Shanghai, Alice grew up in Hong Kong and moved to America to study at the age of 17. Upon graduating from the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, she relocated to New York to pursue a career in fashion. While freelancing for Michael Kors, she worked to perfect her skills. Realizing her dream of starting her own label, Alice created her first knitwear collection in Autumn 2007. Since its debut, Alice Yim New York has evolved into a series of collections that are currently carried in boutiques nationwide.

4. West56: designer Alston Yang Alston Yang is a Taiwanese American fashion designer known for chic yet athletic clothing. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Alston interned at Opening Ceremony and then later worked at Derek Lam. Alston started his own fashion brand West 56 in New York City. His designs are futuristic and yet functional using high quality, new technology, and performance fabrics.  West56 has been featured in the media including Today Show, Women’s Health and People StyleWatch. HEATIMPACT™ fabric used in Alston’s signature thermal collection is antibacterial, anti-odor, stretch comfort, and non-deforming.

5. TOTR, designer Xue Liang Xue Liang attended in: Jiangnan University, Central Saint Martins, and University of Hertfordshire. She taught at Shanghai University of Engineering Institute of Clothing Technology. Liang worked in a number of well-known international and domestic competitions winning service in various garment companies and enterprises. During Spring 2012 at the Shanghai International Fashion Week, her design work won “Best Technology Award” at ” The Peach Girl into fashion by Mode Shanghai.”

*** Special Beatboxing Performance: SungBeats is an award-winning beatboxer who has been developing his craft for over 13 years. Since first discovering the art of beatboxing, Sung has been accumulating a library of vocal sounds that in​​clude percussion, scratches, bass-lines, synths, trumpets, strings and many other vocal sound effects, to create organic beats and melodies with the human voice. Sung is most notable for winning all rounds of “Amateur Night at the Apollo: Season 2014,” as well as “Kollaboration Star 2014.” He has also competed in beatbox competitions both nationally and abroad, placing 2nd place in the 2011 American Beatbox Championships and representing the United States at the Grand Beatbox International Loopstation Battle in 2015. www.sungbeats.com

*** Emcee by Sirena Wang: The event will be emceed by Sirena Wang, whose resume includes having performed as a solo classical pianist with symphony orchestras, won two NCAA rifle championships, and is now working alongside artists such as Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas and Steve-O. In addition, she was crowned Miss New York Chinese 2006 and went on to be a top 5 finalists in the Miss Chinese International 2007 pageant representing New York, where she continues an active role in inspiring young women.
