Planning for a hard conversation/event/test/interview? Want to talk to others about it or ask for help but don’t know how to start?
Have a friend who’s going through a crisis and not sure how to approach them and be supportive?
Join us for a session on planning for ourselves and others before crisis happens. Borrowing tools from the @Audre Lorde Project and @the Icarus Project and using what we already know about supporting ourselves and each other, we will map out how we can name our needs and ask others for support during hard times. Everyone who attends can expect to leave with a wellness plan and toolkit of their own!
✦ ABOUT THE AUDRE LORDE PROJECT ✦
The Audre Lorde Project is a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming People of Color community organizing center, focusing on the New York City area. Through mobilization, education and capacity-building, we work for community wellness and progressive social and economic justice. Committed to struggling across differences, we seek to responsibly reflect, represent, and serve our various communities.
✦ ABOUT THE ICARUS PROJECT ✦
The Icarus Project is a support network and education project by and for people who experience the world in ways that are often diagnosed as mental illness. We advance social justice by fostering mutual aid practices that reconnect healing and collective liberation. We transform ourselves through transforming the world around us.
