Asian Volunteer Mentors
Our mission is to provide support to Asian communities, especially recent immigrant families transitioning to New York City by recruiting new mentors, creating exposure and awareness, and offering peer support to one-to-one Mentoring relationships. The group focuses many of its efforts around the New American Program (NAP) at Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC.
About the New American Program
NAP is Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC’s specialized mentoring program, helping children from immigrant families overcome the unique obstacles they may face while navigating culture, language, and customs different from their home environment. NAP currently supports the Cantonese, Mandarin, and Korean speaking communities in New York City, with our greatest need being Male volunteers to be matched with the boys on our wait-list. Among the Little Brothers and Little Sisters matched in NAP
