Join us on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Queens College located in Queens – one of the most diverse boroughs of New York City and home to 1 million immigrants from all over the globe.
This year’s conference theme is “An Undeterred Vision,” focusing on the strengths, capabilities, and commitment to strive for a more inclusive higher education system. Our mission is to create a safe space where undocumented immigrants, pro-immigrant supporters, educators, and community members can engage in positive discourse to create sustainable solutions for advancing the lives of immigrants.
Students: What to expect? With plenty of fascinating content and networking opportunities, this conference is essential for those seeking information about financial, academic and professional support to successfully obtain a higher education.
Educators: What to expect? Learn how to work with undocumented students, professional techniques from people with years of experience and external resources to build trustworthy relationships. Educators will learn of the CUNY – wide resources to build community and network with educators who are leading quality research to advance the lives of immigrants.
Overall you will experience an unparalleled access to resources and networking with people who are driving positive change in the immigrant movement! This year we will also discuss in depth immigrant integration, health access and refugees’ settlement.
2016 is a historic time for the immigrant movement due to our national immigrant rhetoric and how we can as a united community rise our undeterred vision for a better America.
