TOGETHER FOR 3.11 and the Fellowship for Japan are hosting the 6th annual memorial for Japan’s earthquake and tsunami victims. Since March 11, 2011, TOGETHER FOR 3.11 was formed as a community organization to help the survivors of the earthquake (magnitude 9.0). It’s been 6 years since then, and families are still unable to return to their former homes. The organization has also aided survivors of the recent earthquakes in 2016.
At the memorial service, there will be keynote speakers such as the Ambassador Reiichiro Takahashi from the Consul General of Japan in NY and President Motoatsu Sakurai of the Japan Society. The Circle Wind Boys & Girls Choir will provide music.
The memorial is free to attend but donations are highly encouraged. All the proceeds will be sent to the Japan Fellowship that will aid in the relief efforts of the survivors currently living in Northeast Japan.
