To celebrate the diversity and success of the Asian cultures that make up its student population, LaGuardia Community College is hosting an Asian Heritage celebration.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the College’s main building at 31-10 Thomson Avenue in LIC
Festivities start at 10 but the performances happen a little later.
• 10:30 – 11:30 a.m – A panel discussion on Asian Americans in leadership roles. The event will take place in room E-500.
• 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. – Yanjun Gao, a LaGuardia student who won the Association of College Unions International 2010 Collegiate Table Tennis Championship in men’s singles, will challenge students to a game of table tennis. The activity will take place in the E-building atrium.
+ An Exhibit displaying Japanese and Chinese traditional clothing and artifacts and featuring videos of tourist attractions in China and Japan.
