Introductory class on Buddhist Meditation at the Mahayana Temple

Ven. ZhiYan, b. 1971 in Tianjin City, China has studied Chinese Buddhism since a young age.
In 2009, he became acquainted with Theravada Buddhism and by 2011 became an ordained monk with the Dharma name Pannasiri, meaning wisdom filled, solemn one.
Ven. ZhiYan underwent intensive practice at the meditation center under the guidance of the Ven. Chanmyay Sayadaw U Janakabhivamsa from Myanmar, an internationally renowned Vipassana meditation master and follower of Ven. Wayama and Ven. ZhiGuang.
Ven. ZhiYan has a profound understanding of Dharma and applies this wisdom to daily life. He follows Buddhist precepts rigorously and performs prudent deeds.
After Ven. ZhiYan returned to China, he was invited to guide meditation in various parts of the country, both residing and practicing meditation at the Shengquan Temple in Fuzhou, Fujian.
Ven. ZhiYan is compassionate, patient and gentle. Greatly welcomed and appreciated by his followers, students, and devotees. He is an asset to his community.
