Purpose: Decoding abstract ink art with the scientific method.
Content: Centuries-old medium ink-brush art repositions itself in a hi-tech digital era. Many Chinese artists’ unfettered explorations have continuously reshaped the vision of Chinese contemporary art, integrating traditional concept with contemporary awareness. Zhang Zhaohui is one of those who opens a new window with the traditional ink art medium.
Prof. Clive Zhuang, a distinguished microwave electromagnetic authority, examines Zhang Zhaohui’s ink art production, with his 40 years expertise. Prof. Zhuang begins with the periodic structure of butterfly and ripple to talk about the relationship between natural mechanism with the genealogy of Zhang Zhaohui’s ink art scheme, providing a unique perspective to perceive and on-going ink art renovation program.
The panel discussion will be followed with Prof. Clive Zhuang’s presentation on Zhang Zhaohui’s ink artworks. There will be a light refreshment served at the reception (from 12:30-1:30pm) after the panel discussion during the networking and Q&A session.
