MOI’M New York, Inc. (MOI’M) returns with their signature bi-annual event, MOI’M Red Carpet 2018, bringing together students and working professionals from all backgrounds to its event of the year, on Saturday, October 20th at Gotham Hall in New York City. Inspired by the fantasy of the hit movie La La Land, MOI’M Red Carpet 2018 is the networking event not be missed with a mission to bridge the Korean American community and beyond. Mentoring, educating and inspiring the next generation is a key aspect that MOI’M aims to nurture within the community through Red Carpet 2018. Anticipated attendees are 300 students and working professionals in the the New York City area.

MOI’M, from its foundation in 2013, is back with a Red Carpet program that truly reflects its growth as an established organization that brings the Korean community together reflected in its lasting partnerships. From Korean government agencies to other established Korean American professional and student organizations, these relationships provide a network and foundation for all members within the Korean American community. Consul General Hyo-Sung Park, Consul General to New York Republic of Korea will be attending the event as a special guest. Sponsors of MOI’M Red Carpet 2018 are the Overseas Koreans Foundation, Consulate General of Republic of Korea in New York and Parcrest Advisors. The Overseas Koreans Foundation is an independent organization affiliated with the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, established with the mission to promote better understanding of Korea within the international community and to increase friendship and goodwill between Korea and the rest of the world through various exchange programs. Parcrest Advisors is an investment bank focused on strategic M&A advisory services to business and teams looking to work with industry expert bankers. Other organizations supporting the Red Carpet 2018 as Community Partners include the Korean American Community Foundation (KACF), Korean American Family Service Center (KAFSC), the Korea Finance Society (KFS), and the young Korean American Network (yKAN). Schools represented at Red Carpet 2018 include Columbia University, New York University (NYU), Baruch College, the School of Visual Arts (SVA), the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), the Pratt Institute and more.

MOI’M has branched out since their start with the East Coast Korean communities in early 2013, continuously engaging the community through successful network events collaborating with some of the top stars of “Hallyu,” the Korean Wave. As MOI’M continues to be thrive as the leading Korean Networking Organization in the U.S. and expands abroad with the recent birth of the MOI’M Korea team, building a community of individuals with a strong network and support system is at the core, but also inspiring the community to give back is the goal. MOI’M Korea successfully launched their first event in 2017. Global Talent Program launched in October 2017 where students and young professionals were able to gain insight and advice from current industry professionals from a local to international scale.

MOI’M Red Carpet 2018 is the fourth Red Carpet event and MOI’M’s sixth signature annual event, following MOI’M Gala 2013: The Red Carpet showcasing Sean (Jinusean) and Lewis Dodley (NY1 News, Anchor), MOI’M Gala 2014: Showtime showcasing Gary (Leessang) and Jung-in, MOI’M Inception 2015 with Eric Nam (Singer-songwriter) and Lie Sang Bong (Designer), MOI’M Red Carpet 2016 partnering with American Cancer Society- Asian Initiatives and Crossroads 2017 with Hong Seok Cheon (Restaurateur & Entertainer), Keo Lee (Manager, Netflix) and Tim Jo (Actor). Red Carpet 2018 will have a 4-hour premium open bar, 3-hour buffet hors d’oeuvre, performance and live auction. It will be another unforgettable night that only MOI’M can bring– filled with networking, creativity, entertainment, and most of all, inspiration.
