Curated by Stacy Grossfield as part of her IMAGES // LANDSCAPES series, Korean choreographer In Kyung Lee returns to JACK with “sound & visual poetry on women” — choreographic impressions of women looking at other women, women loving other women, women moving through life, women’s passing of time.
In Kyung Lee is a South Korea born artist who lives in Berlin. She has shown works at: Madame Claude Berlin, Lake Studios Berlin, Seoul Dance Center, JACK, CPR, Berkeley Arts Festivals, Phoenix Center for the Arts… She has been an artist residence at Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and Lake Studios Berlin. She earned her MFA in Dance at Arizona State University.
Mitchell Keaney is an artist and musician born in Mesa, Arizona in 1992. He has self released three full length albums, contributed art direction and rhythm to the Arizona-based band Gulch, and performed and exhibited sound work extensively throughout the Southwestern United States and in New York. He has described his interest and approach to working with sound similar to the way one would create a collage from found materials or printed matter. Mitchell is currently living and working in New York City.
