Incredible India Announced as Presenting Sponsor for 2019 New York Times Travel Show

The New York Times has announced today that Incredible India will be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2019 New York Times Travel Show.

Headed by the Government of India’s Ministry of Tourism, Incredible India will offer Travel Show attendees a variety of India-focused programming and incentives during each day of the annual event, the largest travel trade and consumer show in North America.

“The New York Times is thrilled to be collaborating with Incredible India and to promote India’s tourism industry,” says Lisa Howard, Senior Vice President, General Manager, Media, The New York Times. “India is consistently a top travel destination for the industry professionals and travelers who attend our Show each year and we’re proud that we’re able to provide the quintessential event for them to learn about the latest in travel and travel news.”

“The United States is the leading source market for India and India has been experiencing consistent growth of tourist traffic from the U.S. year after year,” says Shri K. J. Alphons, Minister of State for Tourism, Government of India. “We’re extremely excited to be participating at this year’s New York Times Travel Show as its Presenting Sponsor and look forward to bringing a taste of India’s vibrancy, rich cultures and popular tourist offerings to the city of New York and to Travel Show attendees from all over the world.” A strong contingent of Indian tour operators led by a high level delegation from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is expected to travel to New York for the Travel Show.

The 2019 New York Times Travel Show–now in its 16th year–will take place Jan. 25-27, 2019, opening with a Trade Day exclusively for over 10,000 travel industry professionals and media; Saturday, Jan. 26, and Sunday, Jan. 27. will be open to over 22,000 consumer travelers, as well as to travel professionals and media. The three-day showcase will feature global cuisine tastings, cultural performances, travel book signings, one-on-one conversations with travel experts and special discounts and offers for consumers of all ages from over 600 exhibitors. The Show will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

This year, Travel Show attendees will be able to partake in a variety of offerings related to travel to India including a display of destinations in India, a “Focus on India” discussion on Friday, January 25 from 3-4pm, and a consumer seminar on Sunday, January 27. Attendees will also be able to gain insights from a “Meet the Experts” representative covering travel to India on Sunday, January 27 from 12-12:45pm.

The Travel Show will also feature other program highlights including a Trade Day keynote panel on the state of the travel industry, moderated by James Shillinglaw; along with expanded Travel Product, LGBTQ and Family Fun pavilions. For the first time in New York Times Travel Show history, a passport acceptance event, hosted by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, U.S. Dept of State, will also be held.
