May 7th 6-9pm
New York Hall of Science
Dynamite dishes? Got ’em! Dreamy drinks? You bet! Delectable desserts? Of course!
The Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC) and the Queens Tourism Council (QTC) will host Queens Taste 2019 at the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park on Tuesday, May 7, from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Restaurants are still signing up to participate, but this 15th annual banquet has already attracted vendors that offer Asian, Brazilian, Caribbean, Colombian, Filipino, French, Italian, Kosher, Malaysian, Mexican, and Singaporean cuisine. What else would you expect in the world’s most diverse county?
Attendees will be able to bounce from table to table, tasting treats from tangy to fiery, crunchy to velvety, and sweet to briny.
Local breweries (thanks, SingleCut Breweries), coffee crafters (ditto Might Oaks Roasters), and specialty beverage purveyors will mix with international alcohol brands and a fruit juicer. Plus, cupcake designers, chocolate makers, and artisan bakers will offer samples of their products.
It’s no secret that the victuals are great, but the targeted networking is even better. Almost all the anticipated 700 attendees either live in Queens and/or do business in the borough. Many are executives and captains of industry. Plus, the Afro-Latineers Band plays fun music, and the atmosphere is always festive, almost giddy, creating an ideal scene for meeting and greeting.
Finally, Queens Taste 2019 supports a good cause. Proceeds go to QEDC’s ongoing efforts to attract, create, and maintain jobs in the borough. Tickets cost $125 each (two for $200), but as QEDC is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, they are partially tax deductible as permitted by law.
