Mr. Chang-Song Du (杜長松) is a very unique musician. He is a master of Chinese folk music as well as international folk music such as African, South American music/music instrument. He can teach more than 30 instruments and have many students all over the world.
Mr Du gave a lecture and performance of Chinese music & ancient instruments at HAN’s old studio last summer. He introduced the Chinese ancient instruments, classic ancient Chinese music and explained the different of ancient, classic modern music, the similarity of Chinese and western music etc followed by a amazing group performance using Chinese Qin, Qiao and Hu Lu Flute instruments. It is such a inspirational lecture for the people who attended that day!
Mr Du was away for a few months giving lectures in Europe, now he is back to NYC again and interested to introduce International folk music to my meetup group from June. We plan to have music/cultural lectures with performance once a month introducing different music from different part of the world. We will for sure start from Chinese music from June. Dr Du will introduced instruments dating back two or three thousand years ago in China. I can guarantee your enjoyment of a ‘banquet of music”. Please do let your friends and family know.

Below is Mr Du’s short bio.
Chang-Song Du was the winner of the 1982 winner of the “National Instrument Solo Performance of China” competition., the top level of performance in China. Praised as “the wonderfully magic flute of the East”, Mr Du has a good command of up to 10 different Chinese traditional instruments. During his 22-year experience of teaching music, he invented numerous new instruments, 4 of which are now patented. He has been invited to perform and teach music in France, Germany, Japan, Hungary and Canada.
