Asian American/Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA) was established in 1991. The mission of AAPINA has been carried by dedicated AAPI nurses since then. We have four goals. The first and most importantly we identify and support the health care needs of Asian Pacific Islanders (API) in the United States and globally. Second, we implement strategies to act on issues, registration and public policies affecting the health of APIs. Third, we collaborate with other interdisciplinary health and professional organizations. Forth, we identify and support professional and nursing concerns of API nurses in the United States and globally.
The purpose of Asian American Recovery Services, Inc. is to decrease the incidence and impact of substance abuse in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities of the San Francisco Bay Area. To accomplish this goal, Asian American Recovery Services, Inc. develops and provides innovative outreach, treatment, prevention, and research services for its target populations. Because there are multiple causes and effects of substance abuse, Asian American Recovery Services, Inc. also engages in ancillary activities to meet its goal.
The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) is a national advocacy organization dedicated to promoting policy, program, and research efforts to improve the health and well-being of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and other Pacific Islander (AA,NHOPI) communities. Founded in 1986, APIAHF approaches activities with the philosophy of coalition-building and developing capacity within local AA,NHOPI communities. We advocate on health issues of significance to AA,NHOPI communities, conduct community-based technical assistance and training, provide health and U.S. Census data analysis and information dissemination, and convene regional and national conferences on AA,NHOPI health.
National Asian Women’s Health Organization (NAWHO) is a national non-profit health organization with a mission to achieve health equity for Asian women and families. Our goals are: to raise awareness about the health needs of Asian Americans through research and education; to support Asian Americans as decision-makers through leadership
development and advocacy; and to strengthen systems serving Asian Americans through partnerships and capacity building.
Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches (A3M)’s mission is to improve the health and welfare of all people by providing education, assistance, and facilitating prompt access to potential marrow and blood cell donors. We work toward this mission by coordinating donor recruitment drives, offering patient support services, and providing resources for patients and donors.
The Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) is a national association representing community health organizations dedicated to promoting advocacy, collaboration and leadership that improves the health status and access of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders within the United States, its territories, and freely associated states, primarily through our member community health centers.
