Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York – Jen Kao must dream in technicolor, or high definition 3D because her Fall collection was a spectacular treat for the senses.
Jen Kao is Taiwanese and was born in Los Angeles. Jen is pretty, tall and very sweet! When AsianInNY interviewed her, she told us that her design is heavily influenced by her Taiwanese family especially her grandmom whom she learned the intense love for details and precision. She was raised in Kansas City and is now based in New York. While we were waiting at the backstage for the interview, we chatted with her parents and you can totally see how proud they are with Jen’s success.
Her pieces were “inspired by the strongest animals we are capable of being” with a color palette of “acid rainbows”. Super high purple wedge booties elongated already long bodies and combined with multicolored and metallic dresses enhanced with fringe evoked otherworldly creatures.
