The Cammy Lee Leukemia Foundation Inc. is a non profit health service organization. We are an official recruitment group of the National Marrow Donor Program. We are dedicated to increasing awareness of leukemia and other fatal blood diseases in the Asian community. Through our efforts we can help thousands of Asian patients who are still searching for a match. In 1993, CLLF became an official recruitment group of the National Marrow Donor Program and has registered thousands of potential volunteer donors to the NMDP registry since its inception. But the need is still great. Of the almost 4 million volunteer donors registered in the NMDP registry, only 7% are Asian/Pacific Islander. The chances of finding a match is between one in 20,000 to one in a million. Register to be a bone marrow donor today and you may be able to give the greatest gift of all: LIFE.
The Asian Pacific Fund is a community foundation established to improve the health and well-being of all Asian Americans in the Bay Area. Even though 23 percent of the Bay Area is Asian, we receive less than 1 percent of mainstream funding, while one in every six of our children grows up in poverty. By providing services and awarding grants to more than 90 Asian organizations, the Fund also supports a broad range of local groups that provide vital services to Asian Americans. These organizations serve Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese and other Asians in the region. The Fund is the only organization in the Bay Area focused exclusively on working closely with Asian donors, raising funds for community agencies and public education projects, and ensuring that contributions have a lasting impact.
The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF), the nation’s only pan-Asian children’s advocacy organization, aims to improve the health and well-being of Asian Pacific American children and families in New York City.
CACF challenges stereotypes of Asian Pacific Americans as a “model minority” and advocates on behalf of underserved families in our community, especially immigrants struggling with poverty and limited English skills. CACF promotes better policies, funding, and services for East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Islander children, youth, and families.
